Garden of Eden
Standing on an area of 500 sqm, in one of the most prestigious residential areas in Surabaya, Indonesia, the Garden of Eden is surrounded by an area full of service facilities. A love of Indonesian culture encouraged the owner to have a sanctuary to live in, with a touch of and a blend between Indonesian and oriental culture. Born of Chinese descent, living in the land of Java and as adherents of the Catholic religion, does not eliminate their culture of origins. This house is a perfect relection of the blended elements of Javanese-Oriental-Colonial aspects. Just as it is said “a river lowed out of Eden to irrigate the garden, and there the river split into four rivers,” that’s the depiction of the Garden of Eden, and that’s how this home is built, surrounded by lush plants, full of greenery, as well as aesthetic elements as part of the Garden of Eden itself.
This house is a symbol of the owners themselves, showing the gentleness & the warmth of the family connections and the strength of the bond they have. Therefore, we decided to make the architecture of the house become such a strong & beautiful fortress from the outside, while being more open from the inside. Beautiful Romeo & Juliet balconies in the courtyard allow them to greet one another during the day while they angle towards the tree. Entering the foyer, the impression of luxury immediately bursts out from the selection of looring materials, furniture and wooden panels. The adventure continues by entering the corridor to the heart of this house, accompanied by “Bijout-Serip lighting,” woven wood panels and views from the side terrace. Shades of gold with special hand painting reinforce the impression of luxury and wealth, while a view towards the garden with a ish pond gives a calming efect. Journey to a secluded resting area on the 2nd loor illuminated by “Nenufar” by Serip lighting, with hand paintings of birds and branches symbolizing the beauty of heaven.
